FAQ
Questions, answered without theatre.
Proven craftsmanship, transparent communication, a structured process, and a studio that can hold design, planning, trades, and completion under one standard. VK Group Inc. is built for clients who want a premium, coordinated construction experience — not a collection of subcontractors.
One contractor. Separate trades leave you as the project manager: sequencing, protection, and accountability fragment. We coordinate every trade against a single drawing, a single schedule, and a single quality bar, so the last surface is not the one that suffers.
Ask for a documented process, licensed and insured status in Quebec, a workmanship warranty, and a conversation about how they handle hidden conditions. Reliability is visible in preconstruction, not in a mood board.
Who is on site, how often you will hear from them, how allowances are written, how millwork is procured, and what happens when something behind a wall is not what the drawing assumed. If those answers are vague, the project will be too.
Consultation and survey, preconstruction design and estimate, permits, construction, finishing, walkthrough, and a documented handover. We do not start demolition until the scope, the budget, and the sequence are agreed.
We handle design-build in house and also collaborate with independent designers and architects. If you already have a designer, we become the construction partner. If you do not, we take the project from first sketch to last detail.
A dedicated project manager, a clear decision schedule, regular on-site consultations, and structured written updates. You always know the phase, the next decision, and the state of the budget.
Yes. Full-scope residential work is our primary practice: kitchens, bathrooms, interiors, additions, and exteriors as a single coordinated project rather than a series of rooms.
Yes. Second storeys, rear pavilions, primary suites, and accessory wings — including structure, envelope, permitting, and interior finish — designed to read as architecture, not as an appendage.
Tolerance, sequence, and material honesty. Luxury is not more objects. It is millwork that aligns, stone that is detailed, waterproofing that is tested, and a site that is calm. Excess is not the brief.
From a defined scope: rooms, assemblies, finishes, and a sequence. We break down labour, material, millwork, and allowances, and we explain where premium choices earn their keep over time. No hidden fees.
As soon as the ambition is clear and before you fall in love with a finish. A survey and a preconstruction conversation will always be more accurate than a number given in a first call.
Structural change, moving wet services, custom millwork, large-format stone, envelope performance, and unresolved design. The cheapest moment to be thorough is before construction.
We are fully licensed and insured in Quebec. Work is backed by workmanship warranty coverage and a documented project handover. We do not consider a project complete until the walkthrough is clean.
Yes. Municipal inspections where required, our own quality walkthrough, and a client handover with remaining care instructions. The house is returned clean.
That is the offer. Design, permits, trades, materials, protection, and close-out — held by one studio, for clients who expect the process to be as composed as the result.
